Dr. Richard Kleinmann maintains an independent practice within the Center for Child & Family Development building.

Dr. Richard Kleinmann has over 14 years of experience providing psychiatric care to children, adolescents and adults.  He also provides independent psychiatric evaluations for elementary, middle and high schools.  Areas of interest include depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and Bipolar Disorder (manic depression and psychotic disorders.)  Dr. Kleinmann believes in a collaborative approach when recommending utilization of medication.  He recognizes that all medications have side effects and that it is therefore important to discuss the relative advantages and risks of any medication under consideration.

Dr. Kleinmann grew up on Long Island, the son of an English war bride and an American GI.  He attended the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), Columbia Law School and New Jersey Medical School.  He believes his legal education is often helpful when advising families with school age children.
